Wedding photography requires a variety of of skills to successfully photograph the entire day. This 2-day intensive hands-on workshop is designed to provide you with a detailed overview and training to equip you with the necessary knowledge and techniques for wedding photography. We will demonstrate with our cameras, lenses, and lighting that will help you to efficiently use the tools you have available to you. We will be discussing the importance of scheduling and the right questions to ask the couple prior to wedding day. We will discuss how to best prepare for the actual event. We will go over potential problems that can be avoided ahead of time and quick solutions for issues that may arise on event day. You will be shooting a bride and groom at actual venues. Day 1 will focus on details, individual bride and groom shots, and shooting a mock ceremony inside a church. Day 2 will focus on an outdoor ceremony, wedding couple photography (sunset), and reception lighting at an actual venue. We will also discuss best practices for post-wedding procedures. If time permits we will also conduct post-processing on some of our images. There is a lot of information to cover in these two days. Expect 11 hour days. We will break for lunch. Snacks and drinks will be provided at my studio location in Uptown Whittier which is where we will meet on both days.
- What materials are needed – Bring your camera, 70-200mm, 24-70mm, and your widest lense. Don’t worry if you don’t have these exact lenses. We can work with what you have. All lighting will be provided by instructor. No need to bring your laptops. Bring paper and pen to take notes.
- What level does the student need to be (beginner, intermediate or all levels?) – This workshop is tailored towards the intermediate photographer who is interested in learning best practices for wedding photography. To get the most out of the hands-on practice you need to know how to operate your camera in manual mode and have some off-camera flash experience. We will be using off-camera flash and natural light during the course of this workshop.
- What are the times- beginning to end each day? 9am to 8pm
Whether you are an aspiring wedding or Quinceañera photographer, this is the workshop for you.
