Michelle De La Vara won two Merit Awards in the All Valley Professional Photographer’s print competition held at the La Canada Flintridge Country Club on May 13th. There were a total of 48 entries in the contest. Categories included Portrait Environmental, Portrait Studio, Children, Wedding, Architecture, Illustrative, Landscape, and Nature. Of the 6 photos I submitted, 2 won in the Portrait Environmental and Portrait Studio categories. Receiving 2 Merit Awards for my work as a new, emerging photographer is quite an honor. Seven months ago I made the decision to make my passion for photography my new profession. The courses at Tri-Community Photo School have prepared me immensely by providing the tools, fundamentals, and guidance necessary to embark on this journey. In addition, my one-on-one training with personal mentor, Ramiro Gaytan (pictured left), has taken my skills to the next level. A quality education, continuous study, and dedication to daily practice is the key to my success. I will continue to take courses and train at Tri-Community Photo School, West Coast School, and various other educational seminars and opportunities in the future. Looking forward to my next competition!
